Welcome to AzMed4U! During your visit we conduct a thorough exam EVERYTIME! During your visit we often ask strange questions including, but not limited to:
Any history of Anterior Uveitis?
Do you get swollen ankles?
History of Asthma or COPD?
Tendon ruptures without advanced activity?
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
History of blood clots?
HepatoSplenoMegaly?
Neuropathy without diabetes?
Pets and pet types?
Haven't heard of some? Good! Your probably don't have it in your history.
These questions and more are used in our office routinely at AzMed4U and here is the reason. We strive to optimize your healthcare. We take your history and symptoms to make a definitive diagnosis and start treatment accordingly. SIMULTANEOUSLY, we are looking for other diseases; chronic conditions which may have been missed or which may be at play. Doctors are taught to look for the most common and most likely of illnesses when you are sick and that is AMAZING! We do that too. What sets us apart is that we ALSO take into consideration the rare side of medicine.
It is said that people with rare diseases often spend 1-20 YEARS trying to find the one doctor who may have insight on a disease pattern and who may provide them the diagnosis for that disease. As a result, they are often misdiagnosed, mistreated, and undergo painful/unnecessary testing during their search. That same doctor who may know that disease may not know any other rare diseases. At AzMed4U, we know HUNDREDS of the rarest diseases in the world and we are readily equipped to test for each if needed. We keep these in the back of our mind with each presentation just in case and only test if we have significant suspicion.
If you feel you have been misdiagnosed, underdiagnosed, or have been brushed off by doctors in the past because they can't find the cause of your symptoms, contact us today to see if we may help you with a second opinion!
